Hello & Welcome
My name is Sam. I would like to introduce you to the sober experience, my unique approach to alcohol change. If alcohol has been taking up too much space in your life or you are interested in taking a break from alcohol then I liken this experience to lifting the fog. You won’t truly appreciate the impact alcohol is having on your life until you take a break from it. If you are curious about experiencing even just a brief period without alcohol then I can’t wait to get you started.

Positivity, support and an honest conversation
The Sober Experience
Society normalises alcohol consumption. But if normal doesn’t feel good for you let’s try something different.
In this book you will find answers, a new perspective and clear actionable steps as I guide you through the sober experience. If you really want to take a break from alcohol I will get you there.
The formula works: Positivity, support and an honest conversation. I touch on my own story as it has helpful insights. I touch on society as it’s crucial to acknowledge that we are talking about a highly addictive legal drug. I introduce important theories to support your mindset change. Then with newly acquired confidence we begin to unlock your sober potential.

bring an alternative conversation into your WORKPLACE
For Corporates
Let’s bring the alcohol conversation into the work place in a positive way.
I create a positive space within your organisation to chat about the benefits of taking a break from alcohol. I provide support and awareness without stigma via energised zooms and workshops.
As a society we insist that alcohol is consumed. In the workplace we welcome alcohol on a social level. Under the wellbeing umbrella, I invite you to bring an alternative conversation into your organisation. Whether in the form of a half hour webinar or a morning workshop this positive conversation will be a welcome one for many.

IntroducING you to the human and the chimp
For Individuals
If you feel like you are sitting in the back seat of your life and alcohol is in control let’s talk.
Life takes unexpected twists and turns. We are encouraged to drink to increase pleasure or reduce pain. It might just take one element in the story to turn a manageable habit into one that we struggle to control.
In my book I introduce you to the human and the chimp. Your human is rational. Your chimp is impulsive. Your human wants to take a break from alcohol. Your chimp thinks this is a terrible idea. So this process is all about engaging that human, that rational part of your brain that wants to help you find positive change. Bring an open mind and let’s see what happens.

engage with the sober experience
Coaching
Creating a space for you to explore a world where alcohol is not the central focus.
Coaching provides 1:1 support as a boost to engaging positively in the sober experience. I will walk alongside you for as long as you need.
We will start our coaching adventure together with a 1.5 hour session where we build a detailed analysis of your relationship with alcohol right now, focusing on motivations, invisible hooks, mind influences. Within this session we come up with a plan based around the 10 lessons that I discuss in my book.
We can then focus in on key areas to support your individual needs.
Following the initial deep dive session the follow up sessions are 30 minutes each giving you connection and accountability. You may feel you only need a couple of these sessions or you may prefer to continue the accountability and goal setting for a few months. Prices are set to be affordable to allow you to do this.
Coaching creates a wonderful space for you to work through some of those barriers that might be holding you back, whilst at the same time creating an image of a life where alcohol isn’t centre stage.
About Sam
I woke up one morning and realised my “normal” drinking habit had hijacked my world.
My life was grey, my relationships suffered, my energy levels were low. Alcohol was at the centre of everything but was adding nothing and was actually taking a lot. But I hadn’t hit the classic definition of rock bottom so I ignored it. Until one day, after 30 years dedicated to my drinking hobby I decided to create a new story.

Sam has been coaching me for a few months now and I think she is very good- she is calm and listens whilst giving great advice. I look forward to our sessions and feel so much better after. I was stuck in a rut but through the sessions I have decided to make a huge life change to give up alcohol as I felt calmer and ready to actually help myself for once! I am now almost 100 days alcohol free and life is so much better. I could not have done this without her advice and support. I highly recommend her to help and support people.

Since starting these sessions I can honestly say the guidance given has really been game changing in how I have been approaching different areas of my life. Often simple but such effective techniques have resulted in positive outcomes which would never have happened prior. My outlook has many more dimensions. The benefit is widespread across my family and work life.

There is so much to do and it can get really overwhelming at times. Sam taught me a few ways I can take a step back, refocus, and dump all my To Dos to get them out of my head and organized in a way that makes them more tangible. I find myself pausing more, being empathetic and not letting my kids' negative energy become mine but instead focusing on my positive energy to ground us all. I'm still practicing and I'm definitely not perfect but it's helped a lot. I learned different ways to approach social situations as a newly alcohol free person.

I cannot thank Sam enough for her incredible support and knowledge. I am now sober and free and could not be happier. An all-encompassing program which answers pretty much every question or wall I hit along the way and dispels so many myths that keep us hooked. Thoroughly recommend. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Frequently Asked Questions
How serious does it need to be?
This question seems to be the barrier for so many to question their drinking habits as they see alcoholism as the bench mark and aren't sure how to define their own drinking.
Alcoholism: a lack of control and continuing to do something that is causing you harm.
I would say many more people would fall into that category but we have a stereotyped image that goes alongside it to keep us removed. To me it’s irrelevant. We don’t need labels.
We just need to ask ourselves “does alcohol make ME feel good?”
So if you feel like alcohol is taking up too much space in your life, then that is proof enough to jump into some coaching
Am I forever in recovery?
I don’t believe so.
Once you change your mindset, change the stories you have been telling yourself, establish the triggers and work on them then you are on a new trajectory.
I don't like the idea of being permanently shackled to a desire to drink but a knowledge that you can't. I believe everyone can succeed in no longer desiring alcohol.
Once you create that life where alcohol isn’t the driving force and you feel strong then I don’t believe you are in recovery.
You may still feel triggered and that is an individual thing. You may have a blip but that will become learning not recovery.
Can I just be sober curious? I don’t want to stop right now.
That’s perfect. The more clued up you are on the options and impacts that alcohol might be having on you, the more capable you are of making an informed decision.
You may not want to stop now or ever, but by taking a look at the Sober Experience you might just surprise yourself! What have you got to lose?
