the sober experience

1:1 Coaching

1:1 Coaching

A space to explore

Coaching allows you to individually explore the barriers to change and focus on future positive outcomes.

Let's first understand where you are at

All new adventures start with some questions so that is why I invite you to a free 15 minute clarity call so we can chat about where you are at.

A positive hand to support you

I help you achieve your desired outcome. We will create the map together.

Sober coaching

We start with a questionnaire that you will fill out before our first session.  The first session is a 1.5 hour deep analysis of where you are with your drinking, your invisible hooks, your triggers, the mind connections.  Then we build a plan together.

We can then focus in on key areas to support your individual needs.

Following the initial deep dive session  the follow up sessions are 30 minutes each giving you connection and accountability.  You may feel you only need a couple of these sessions or you may prefer to continue the accountability and goal setting for a few months.  Prices are set to be affordable to allow you to do this.

Let's get to work

I call it the sober experience as a break from alcohol is an "experience and a hugely positive one.

APPROACH

A focus on you with the support of a program

We follow a program for maximum success but lean into your personal story.

We will be guided by the learning in my program which you can take at your own time in my online course or book but we focus on how you respond to it.

COACHING STYLE

I hear what you have to say

There is no judgement, no expectation, no right or wrong.

We will go at your pace and I will be led by you but I will guide you and act as a boost to propel you forward.

BENEFITS

A powerful tool to progress

I want you to feel heard and to feel empowered as we initiate change.

1:1 coaching can really help to solidify your goal as we adapt along the way to respond to your specific needs and thoughts.  This can really boost the sober experience if needed.

QUESTIONNAIRE

First we will establish where you are at.

I will send you out a questionnaire to find out where your head is at right now.

This will indicate whether I think I can help you, whether it might be more beneficial to signpost you to other services or whether I might suggest first reading my book or other similar literature to open the door.

Alternatively I can offer you one off booster sessions of 45 minutes to discuss aspects of the sober experience that you are struggling with.

You might be thinking...

  • What will coaching offer me?

Coaching will help you identify your personal barriers and blocks and support you in moving forward.

Coaching will help remove the fear as you begin to paint a picture of that life where alcohol is not centre stage

  • Will I forever be in recovery?

I have met thousands of people in groups whose lives become so fundamentally different when they stop drinking that they would never go back to it. They wouldn’t consider themselves in recovery. A drinking habit and fear of going back to it definitely doesn’t have to be a forever thing

  • I can’t do this as I keep going back to day 1!

It’s all learning until something clicks. What can we do differently? What can we add? What can we remove? There is a path you just haven’t found yet.

About Sam

I woke up one morning and realised my “normal” drinking habit had hijacked my world.

My life was grey, my relationships suffered, my energy levels were low.  Alcohol was at the centre of everything but was adding nothing and was actually taking a lot.  But I hadn’t hit the classic definition of rock bottom so I ignored it. Until one day, after 30 years dedicated to my drinking hobby I decided to create a new story.

Success Stories

  • ★★★★★

Sam has been coaching me for a few months now and I think she is very good- she is calm and listens whilst giving great advice. I look forward to our sessions and feel so much better after. I was stuck in a rut but through the sessions I have decided to make a huge life change to give up alcohol as I felt calmer and ready to actually help myself for once!  I am now almost 100 days alcohol free and life is so much better. I could not have done this without her advice and support. I highly recommend her to help and support people.

  • ★★★★★

Since starting these sessions I can honestly say the guidance given has really been game changing in how I have been approaching different areas of my life.  Often simple but such effective techniques have resulted in positive outcomes which would never have happened prior.  My outlook has many more dimensions. The benefit is widespread across my family and work life.

  • ★★★★★

There is so much to do and it can get really overwhelming at times. Sam taught me a few ways I can take a step back, refocus, and dump all my To Dos to get them out of my head and organized in a way that makes them more tangible. I find myself pausing more, being empathetic and not letting my kids' negative energy become mine but instead focusing on my positive energy to ground us all. I'm still practicing and I'm definitely not perfect but it's helped a lot. I learned different ways to approach social situations as a newly alcohol free person.

  • ★★★★★

I cannot thank Sam enough for her incredible support and knowledge. I am now sober and free and could not be happier. An all-encompassing program which answers pretty much every question or wall I hit along the way and dispels so many myths that keep us hooked. Thoroughly recommend. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t afford coaching?

If you are in the UK the NHS provides a number of support avenues and there are also charities who are set up to provide free services.  They will be unique to your area.

What is the alternative to coaching?

There are many ways to look at changing your relationship with alcohol. My book and online course are much cheaper options and you will find plenty of support online.

Is coaching counselling?

Coaching looks at where you are now and moves you forward.  We might delve into the past a little to recall some positives perhaps or see where a habit might have formed but we don’t seek to establish the root of a trauma or try to resolve any past conflict. Other forms of therapy will support you if this is what you feel you might need.

is one session enough?

My clients have had some really powerful breakthroughs in just one session.  I can listen, hone in on a particular barrier or block and then support you with specific steps to move you forward.
